Though they experienced a rocky season this year, the team has shown outstanding determination to make it to the World Series for the third time since its inception. The Texas Rangers belong to a group of six MLB teams who have yet to secure a World Series victory. Yet there’s a possibility that this year might bring about a change in that longstanding streak. After defeating some high-profile teams in ALDS and ALCS, the Texas-based team really looking forward to the much awaited best of seven of the World Series which starts tomorrow. Texans are excited about the home stadium in which they will face the Arizona Diamondbacks

The last two WS appearances of the team were in 2010 and 2011. While in the former, they played the San Francisco Giants and lost in five games; they lost in seven games to the St. Louis Cardinals in the latter. The Texas Rangers have changed their home ground quite a few times over these years. Starting at Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C., the team has shifted to several other stadiums. However, currently, the home ground of the Rangers is Globe Life Field. After playing in the Globe Life Park in Arlington for the last 25 years, the team shifted to the Globe Life Field in 2020, and presently this is the stadium that hosts all the home games of the Rangers.

Opened in 2020, during the pandemic, this stadium had the weirdest opening ceremony that a ballpark could have. It hosted the opening game of the Rangers vs. the Colorado Rockies, where the audience attendance was zero. Later, during the COVID-19 situation, the MLB assigned two high-profile games to the stadium: the NLCS and the World Series, but the audience attendance rate was reduced to 50%.

This stadium has witnessed several memorable yet embarrassing moments. Among them were two no-hitter moments in 2021. That year, two rival team pitchers threw no-hitters. One was the San Diego Padres’ Joe Musgrove, and the other was the New York Yankees’ Corey Kluber. While these were enough shameful for the Rangers, the next year Aaron Judge did something more insightful. He broke the AL’s single-season record with his 62ndhome run at Globe Life Field.

However, the 2023 ALCS experience at home was also not very great for the Rangers. They lost several games against the Astros in their own territory. Interestingly, the World Series games are also scheduled for Globe Life Field.

Some ballparks, even those open for many decades, might not have witnessed as many noteworthy events within their confines as Globe Life Field did during its initial three seasons of operation. Regrettably, the Rangers and their loyal supporters couldn’t savor any of these moments.

In fact, the Rangers’ winning percentage at home was just .448 from 2020 to 2022, ranking as the fourth-lowest in all of MLB. Their performance was slightly better from 2021 to 2022, with a .432 winning percentage when playing in front of their fans, which was still the second-worst in the league.
