Christian Yelich was part of the 2015-16 Miami Marlins squad with Bonds as their hitting coach. Like another disciple, Yelich had multiple conversations with his coach. In the video shared by Brwalkoff, Yelich shared Bonds’ thoughts on shift! The caption read, “You can’t catch it if it’s in the water.”

In the video, Yelich said,” I was like, Barry, what do you think about the shift? Because that’s kind of when the shift was just starting out again. He used to get shifted all the time. We weren’t really getting shifted a whole lot back then. I was. Like, what do you think about the shift? He was like, man the. The only thing the Shift did was it stopped me from hitting 400. Oh, you can’t catch it if it’s in the water. I was like. aww”

Certainly, only Barry can say such things due to his hard-hitting skills. His career records speak volumes about his approach during the games. The player ended his career with 1996 RBIs with an average of 0.298. Bonds have 762 home runs to his credit at an OPS of 1.051.
