Amid major restructuring plans, there is one Yankees move in particular that is the most awaited. Not too long ago the New York Yankees put up an embarrassing 82-80 show this regular season. Since then, certain free agents have been on their watch list. No second guesses about this one though, Yankees fans adamantly want Juan Soto on board. But does the franchise align?
It is possible that the Bronx might welcome this Dominican ace soon, considering they are leading the chase for him. But it is to be noted that there are 4 more teams that are bidding for him. Seeing this decision see-saw, the fans are ready to face any consequence as long as the Yankees bag Juan Soto.

Here’s the Juan Soto free agency storyline. Despite not being able to make it to the 2023 playoffs after their 2022 NLCS run, the San Diego Padres have Soto on the move. The Padres are keeping both options open and will probably have to choose between trading and extending him this summer. While they still wobble with uncertainty, the Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, New York Yankees, and St. Louis Cardinals have checked in on the 24-year-old as per reports. The Big Apple is currently the top gun on this list, but why is New York so Soto-hungry?
According to @JimBowdenGM, the #Yankees were listed as #1 on a list of 5 teams to look out for in a Juan Soto trade. Bowden listed Michael King and Jhony Brito as pitchers who could be in the deal and bats like Everson Pereira and Oswald Peraza.

For the Yankees, Soto almost seems like an obvious choice. They evidently need assistance in the outfield and left-handed power. And at just under 25, Soto is already among the finest hitters in baseball. This infatuated the mega-franchise and helped them greatly narrow down their choices. The Yankees could instantly re-enter the playoff debate if they could include Soto in the mix along with at least one starting pitcher.
According to reports, onboarding him will give birth to a power trio, with Jasson Dominguez, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto stacking the 3 best offenders together for the Yanks. Apart from that, CBS Sports’ Jim Bowden said that pitchers Michael King and Jhony Brito, as well as batters Everson Pereira and Oswald Peraza would be potential trade partners.
This is how badly the fans want Juan Soto to wear the pinstripes
With these plans in place, the fans feel passionately hopeful. At this point in time, they don’t care much about the future as long as the Dominican-outfielder wears the pinstripes. Here’s what they had to say.
One fan fervently demanded “Whatever it takes, get it done“
Whatever it takes , get it done and extend him and we cooking! You get a super star lefty in The Bronx, last time the passed on one they had to watch him cook in the postseason..cough cough HARPER

Some were so confident of Soto’s move that they already welcomed him
Juan Soto, you are a New York Yankee. Welcome

A few others shared their opinions on other players on the trade list.
You make that deal in one second. How sustainable is King as a SP? Is Brito actually part of the future plans of the rotation? No, even if he stays. Pereira would be rendered useless with Soto replacing him. Peraza/King would be the only ones with true value you’d be giving away.

Though having mixed feelings about trading off some good players, one fan thought, it was “but worth it for Soto”.
I’d definitely think this trade over I feel giving up King in the deal is the hardest decision but worth it for Soto imo

Some dreamed of how “it would be fantastic” if they could bag Soto.
I think if Soto is available, everyone not named Judge, Cole, Torres or Volpe is on the table.
I seriously doubt New York will get him and we all know The Yankees are connected to everyone, but if we could get him it would be fantastic.
