He then moved to Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds before adoring Philadelphia, in the biggest move in his career. Interestingly, it was Phillies superstar Bryce Harper who convinced him to make the move.

Reportedly, Castellanos signed a five-year contract worth $100 million with the club. It increased his earnings from $16 million per year to $20 million per year. Now, having spent two seasons in the City of Brotherly Love, the player has earned $40 million. However, the situation is about to change for the outfielder.

After a below-average 2022, Nick Castellanos made postseason history in 2023. The outfielder shone in the batter’s box, finishing the regular season with the most hits and RBIs for the team. Then came a transformation in October – in 13 games, the star player scored seven runs at an OPS of 0.844.

Although he had a dip later on, the slugger’s contribution was notable, and everyone expected him to complete his contract until 2026. However, the latest update says otherwise.

According to the MLB reporter Mark Feinsand, the Phils are ready to trade Castellanos this off-season. This move is surprising, but it can be fruitful for both. The reason behind Castellanos’s worth after his postseason run, which might fetch him big money if he moves to a different team.
