If not for the last 4-5 years, the New York Yankees have been the most consistent team since the inception of Major League Baseball. And there is a reason they have been so dominating over the century. They always prioritize the team above any individual.
Talking about this, Stanton said, irrespective of good games or bad games, the Yankees always focus on their common goal, which is to win the next game.
“They have been great since I got here in spring training. You know, they have been the same. Good games, bad games; it does not matter. We are all here for one goal, and that is to get us a win…,” Stanton said to Alex Rodriguez back in his debut season with the Yankees. “Sometimes I am not gonna be able to do it, sometimes the top of the lineup is gonna be the bottom of the lineup. We’re all here for the common goal and we know that.”
Notably, after spending the first eight years of his professional career with the Miami Marlins, Stanton signed a new deal with the Yankees in 2018. Currently, with 11 home runs in the 2022 season, the Yankees slugger is having a good season.
