It’s a shame when regular-season dominance fails to affect the postseason. 2023 has seen too many strong teams eliminated with surprising underdogs taking the win instead. Unfortunately, or fortunately, for the New York Yankees, their performance did not get them a spot in October this year. Nevertheless, fans have found solace in a bizarre AL East fact.
The division has historically been a tough group of teams, each better than the next. Once upon a time, the Yankees used to be in the top two, alternating with whatever team dared to give them competition in any given year. The last few seasons have been tougher than ever, leaving Bronx fans despondent. Nevertheless, one of them has dug up a strange playoff fact as a consolation for 2023.
New York Yankees – Only AL East Team to Have Postseason Win in Last Two Years

The Yankees’ last World Series win may have been in 2009, but they’ve been trying to better the odds each year. But for the first time since 2016, they haven’t even made the Wild Card in 2023, while the Baltimore Orioles (101-61) surprisingly made it to the ALDS for the first time since 2017. The O’s had a wonderful 100-win season, with the Tampa Bay Rays not far behind at 99, but neither made it past round one of the playoffs.

As for the Boston Red Sox, they finished at the bottom of the division, and have not made the postseason since 2021. The Toronto Blue Jays meanwhile failed to take a single victory in the Wild Card, the same as last year, after fighting so hard for a spot.
What Yankees fans couldn’t help but notice was that in the last two years, none of these teams have made it past whatever their first round of October entailed. Be it Wild Card or ALDS, none in the AL East have a postseason victory.
The Bronx Bombers, on the other hand, made it to the ALCS in 2022, although they lost the Wild Card in 2021. While most of the other teams were excellent in the regular season, unlike the Yankees, the magic did not follow them to October. Can the Pinstripes bring back the secret recipe for success in 2024? Or will their woes continue as fans throw them under constant heat?
Baseball Fans Roast Yankees Nation
Bronx fans have a reputation around the league for being too passionate, and sometimes letting that passion turn into toxicity. As expected, fans around the league had something to say when they dug up the above stat.

One believed the bar had reached an all-time low.
Wow….the bar in Yankee Nation has reached an all time low, huh?

Another pointed out that the Yankees have not won a World Series in more than a decade.
Have you won a World Series in the past 10??? 5???

One believes that the “storied franchise” is falling apart.
Yankee fans down beyond bad. A once storied franchise now brags about playoff wins over a 2 year span, yet no championship. The fall from the mountain top was fast and furious. We love to see it

The New York Yankees have truly fallen on bad times compared to what they were two decades ago. Can the management recognize their faults and bring back glory to pinstripes again?
