Alex Rodriguez may have retired years ago, but his tryst with baseball continues. The controversial star, best known for his time with the Pinstripes, made waves during his playing career by being one of the best-paid players in the Major League. And he isn’t slowing down post-retirement.

Per a report by Alex Weprin from THE Hollywood REPORTER, the former Yankees slugger has recently agreed to pen a new contract which will come into effect after his current contract with ESPN. The deal would mean changes to the star’s appearance schedule as we know it today. But the fans will indeed have more A-Rod.

Rodriguez began his career as a TV analyst prior to his retirement in 2016. Rodriguez appeared on the post season coverage by the Fox Sports Network in 2015, and 2016. While still donning the Pinstripes, A-Rod helped to get the network key recognition for their coverage.

A-Rod starred in ESPN’s coverage of Sunday Night Baseball in 2018. However, he was pulled from the show amid a rehaul in 2022. With Sunday Night Baseball undergoing a change, Rodriguez was given charge of the “Kay-Rod Cast” on ESPN. A show he co-hosted with Yankees announcer Michael Kay as an alternate cast.

While on the Kay-Rod Cast, Rodriguez saw a host of controversies coming his way. But the star has emerged with a reputation for solid analysis and seems well-liked by the fans. Starring on the Fox Network with friend David ‘Big Papi’ Ortiz, the banter next season could be delightful for the fans.
