The New York Yankees stand at a crossroads. With the 2023 season not going their way, their future appears altogether uncertain. The Yankees’ problems have come from a myriad of places. Early in their season, their batting lacked the firepower to lend some backup for their firing batting. In the other half, their pitching failed to come to the party, leaving them trailing in the AL East with only 64 wins to their name.
But one thing has held them in good stead this season. One player has refused to be affected by the form of the batting lineup around him. And when he was enjoying his best season in 2022, the Yankees Captain may have made a crucial call that he too regrets, albeit in jest.

Perhaps the clearest example of Aaron Judge‘s rising stock, though, was the announcement of his collaboration with the Jordan brand. Picked over the burgeoning two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, the endorsement deal was more than just a marker of Judge’s superior recognizability.
However, perhaps the most interesting thing to come out of the collaboration for baseball fans was the promotional interview with the brand. The interview allowed the fans into some more personable moments from the 2022 AL MVP and only served to grow his reputation. One revelation, however, stood out from the rest.
Talking about other talents off the field, the 5x All-Star looked at the camera and spoke about his dancing talents while reminiscing about a walk-off home run that he scored in 2022. Judge said, “I know that I tried the griddie. I know we have that footage somewhere, (but) we won’t show them this.”
Clearly, while the slugger knows his batting abilities, his celebrations could do with some refining. Celebrating a walk-off home run with a trending dance may not have been the best choice, and the 2022 home run king seemed to know it.

Aaron Judge – The Right Man for the Yankees?
Aaron Judge is the talk of the town. Despite featuring in a stumbling Yankees lineup in 2023, Judge has shone as a shining example for his teammates. Even though Judge spent some time on the IL during the season, his return to the clubhouse certainly changed things for the Yankees in their play, even if it may not have been reflected in the results.

The Captain is getting ready for the final stretch of games in the season and is poised to make a push for the postseason. Despite the Yankees on the verge of their first losing season since 1992, Aaron Judge is not about to give up yet. And if that isn’t some classic Yankees hope, we don’t know what is.
