Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani are having a hell of a season for themselves. The two are making history in the ballparks. If Judge is on a hitting spree, then Ohtani is also having the best season as a two-way player.

Unlike the last year, choosing between Judge and Ohtani for AL MVP will not be an easy task. With 55 home runs already hit from the plate, Judge is on a pace to break the single-season home run record (61) in the American League. And when talking about the reigning AL MVP, Ohtani has hit 33 home runs from the plate and 12 wins from the mound.

Recently, renowned MLB writer Ken Rosenthal expressed his opinion on the same. While he kept saying Aaron Judge is a deserving candidate for the AL MVP, Rosenthal also praised Ohtani for his historic MLB season.

Only one thing separates Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani from the AL MVP debate

Shohei Ohtani is having a once-in-a-lifetime season. No doubt about that. But it will be Aaron Judge who will play the postseason games with the New York Yankees, not Shohei Ohtani for the Angels. And this is the only thing that might make a difference for the MVP winner.

When asked about speaking on the AL MVP, Rosenthal said Ohtani is doing miracles this season. And this is not the first time he is doing so.

“We are talking about the second greatest two-way season in major league history. It’s pretty close to what he [Shohei Ohtani] did last year in some aspects. Better from the pitching perspective, not as good as from the hitting perspective,” Rosenthal said.

“And my only concern here, and Judge is deserving, is that there will be some kind of Ohtani fatigue setting in and we don’t appreciate the miracle of what he is doing.”

Ben Verlander on the Judge v/s Ohtani debate

Reacting to this, Ben Verlander also said almost the same thing. He, too, appreciated Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani for their wonderful season.

“Judge is having the epitome of an MVP season. It’s absolutely incredible. But it’s a “miracle” what Shohei Ohtani is doing,” Ben tweeted.
