The entire sporting world is mourning the death of the legendary sportscaster Vincent Edward Scully, AKA Vin Scully. MLB Hall of Famer broadcaster Vin Scully served as the announcer of the MLB franchise, Los Angeles Dodgers, for 67 years.?
Scully breathed his last on Wednesday at 94. He has left behind a legacy that is almost impossible to achieve by anyone else. The ace sportscaster for ESPN and YES Network, Michael Kay, also paid a heartfelt tribute to the best in the business. Notably, Michael has always idolized Scully ever since he is in the broadcasting field.

Scully broadcast Dodgers games in two different eras. He started announcing for the Dodgers in 1950 (When LA Dodgers was Brooklyn Dodgers) and ended his tenure in the 2016 MLB season. Given his long reign at the Dodgers, Vin Scully became the voice of the Los Angeles-based MLB franchise.

Apart from being a great broadcaster, there was another reason Michael Kay was so close to Vin Scully. A Yankees reporter shared interesting data on Twitter. Per Justin Shakil, Vin Scully and Michael graduated from the same university, Fordham University in New York City.?

Taking to Twitter, Michael also penned down a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Dodgers broadcaster.?
His loss is heartbreaking as his golden voice is silenced, but he will live forever as an example of what to try and be on and off mic. RIP Mr Scully and rest easy knowing how much you made a difference to all who met you and had the joy of listening to you.

Michael also appreciated the gifted skill of the late Vin Scully. Scully was a perfectionist in his field.

Given his immense contribution to the game, MLB also recognized Scully’s worth and honored him with the Hall of Fame induction in 1982.
Notably, MLB has lost a great and legendary jewel of the game. May his soul rest in peace.
