As per common knowledge, Citi Field is the home ground of the New York Mets. Citi Field will be hosting the San Diego Padres for a wild card series. The winner of the series will then further proceed into the postseason.?
The Mets held the top rank in the National League East zone for a long time. Therefore, on the basis of their record, they registered playoff berths quite a while ago. But a few recent losses and better performance by an arch-rival team altered the calculations.?
New York Mets: Gearing up with an iconic song?
The New York Mets almost had everything going perfectly for them for a long time this season. But the series against their arch-rivals Atlanta Braves turned their world upside down. Having already qualified for the playoffs, the Mets were hoping to clinch the zonal crown. However, the Braves had other plans for their arch-rivals.
In the penultimate series of the regular season, the Braves pummelled the Mets to a clean sweep. Following on, the Braves further sealed a series victory against the Miami Marlins, in the final series. Therefore, the Braves dethroned the Mets from zonal supremacy and stepped ahead for a direct entry into the playoffs.?
Nonetheless, with high hopes, the Mets are now gearing up for the upcoming wild card series. Amidst pre-game arrangements, Citi Field played the iconic song, ‘Narco’. The song has now turned symbolic with Mets’ pitcher,?Edwin Diaz.?
MLB writer, Anthony DiComo, took to Twitter and wrote, “The Mets are testing out some scoreboard things tonight in advance of Wild Card Game 1 at Citi Field. They just briefly played ‘Narco’ and flashed blue-and-orange lights on their ribbon boards.” ?

A little presumptuous to think they’ll make the NLCS and get to face Contreras don’t you think? Still cool they’d play his song for him if it happens I guess.

As much as I loathed the series in ATL Truist is amazing. They have quick on & off LED stadium lights which is how they do the chop thing. @CitiField needs those. They have more team centric LED signs than Citi too. The Samsung LED project has been great but the @Mets need more
