“Way to Go Av!” – Yankees Fans Cheer for Rookie Shortstop Anthony Volpe for Winning Yankees’ Player of the Game Belt

New York Yankees cornered many fans in their favor as they called upon the 21-year-old Anthony Volpe to the Majors. Volpe has shown immense talent in spring training and made his way to the big league, following in the footsteps of his inspiration Captain Clutch, Derek Jeter. The young shortstop, with his iconic hitting skills, left every Yankee fan amazed and ready to fight with the Yankees’ front office for him. 

Even though AV showed immense potential in the spring training, shortly after starting the regular season, he got affected by its blues. Hence, for a while, he went through a rough patch. Fortunately for him, he is surrounded by the right people who helped him get over his hiccups and get back on track. After which, Volpe helped his team win against the Orioles. This then led the rookie to earn the Yankees’ Player of the Game belt. Notably, it made the slugger happier than ever and once again has fans cheering for him.

After receiving the Yankees Player of the Game belt, Volpe gave an interview to the Yes Network. There, he talked about his feelings after winning the belt while adding how he made it all happen.

On winning the belt, Anthony said, “It means the world.” To this, he added, “I think I’ve said it, but being a part of this team and being welcomed by these guys has made it ten times better than I ever could have imagined, and they kind of recognize what I was going through, and they were there for me every step of the way and getting recognized by them makes it better than getting recognized by anyone else.”

Having played only eight games in the big league, Volpe already has countless people in the baseball world talking about him and his future in the Bronx.
