Next time a pitcher throws at Freddie Freeman, he is going to sweat! After the antics the Los Angeles Dodgers star pulled this time—surely it won’t be a surprise. Freeman owed the World Series, and it wouldn’t be an overstatement. Now, while the other MLB teams feel the pressure of his bat, it seems like even at home someone feels the pressure—his son.

Well, Freeman’s wife Chelsea shared a video back in March 2020, and it reminded everyone that Freeman leaves no one off the hook. The clip features the father and son playing a game of baseball in their backyard. Charlie, a little more tiny than now, winds up and throws a high four-seamer. His dad didn’t take it easy on him and crushed it sky-high. Charlie’s reaction was epic.

Holding the two other balls in his hands, Charlie stares at his dad and then at the sky and then drops the balls in shock. Well, Freddie Freeman too tosses his bat and bolts for the imaginary bases in the backyard as Charlie looks for the ball. The moment is so special and pure; also, did you know Charlie had manifested his dad’s MVP this year?

Seems like the 8-year-old, after seeing his dad hit a home run, said, “Daddy, are you going to be MVP?” Freddie Freeman shared this conversation in a recent podcast and said that he then replied, “It’s been one game.” Little did Freeman know that Charlie’s innocent prediction would come true and he would win the MVP award. Ohtani and Judge had their names written all over the award. But he wrote his name!

Now, this adorable video of 2020 has resurfaced. It’s leaving New York Yankees fans reliving the pain of his World Series heroics that shattered their championship dreams.

Did Freddie Freeman's World Series heroics make him the ultimate Yankee nightmare?

Have an interesting take?

One Yankee fan mentioned that he watched Freeman destroy them in the World Series this year. Freeman did start Game 1 with a walk-off grand slam—it’s the first-ever World Series grand slam—and then, he clinched a 6-3 win for LA. In the next game, he blasted another home run to seal a 4-2 win. Game 3 was no different, and he crushed a two-run blast, and in Game 4 he hit another homer. In game 5, his clutch two-RBI single helped the Los Angeles Dodgers clinch the win. So, Freeman indeed left a huge mark!

Another X user mentioned how, despite being a Mets fan, they acknowledge Freeman among the greatest. Many had thought that Freeman was past his peak at 35 years old, but he just showed in 2024 what he was made of. Not only did he drive in a record-breaking 12 RBIs in the World Series, but his regular season numbers were stellar. He finished with a .282 batting average, 89 RBI, and 22 home runs while earning his fourth consecutive All-Star nod.

One sarcastic comment questioned if it was Nestor Cortes, and not just him, but plenty of other fans highlighted the same. insinuating how Charlie’s face emulates what Nestor’s face was in Game 1 of the World Series. He had thrown Freeman the first pitch in the top of the 10th inning, and Freeman sent it to 409 feet. It was a first-of-its-kind game-ending grand slam, and Cortes made a long, awkward walk back and seemed angry.

Similarly, another user was reminded of how Freeman hit hard against the Yankees. Well, his World Series performance did take everyone by surprise, he was injured and still playing. It used to take him four hours of prep to make it to the field, but that didn’t stop him from doing his best. At one game, Freeman stumbled because he was in that much pain. Later, it was revealed that he even had an injured ribcage, yet, he played the way he did.

One commenter focused on Freddie Freeman’s personality beyond the game, which is evident in his demeanor this time. Freeman faced one turmoil after another, both emotional and physical. His son Max had a health scare and got diagnosed with a rare neurological condition; he was out of the game only for a while and came back. Later, after his grand slam, he dedicated his resilience to his dad. Freeman mentioned his dad was the one who taught him to ‘show up’.
