While playing the game of baseball, Alex Rodriguez fulfilled almost all of his dreams. Decades before the name Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez became a sensation in the sporting world, in 1998, he once babbled the name of his dream date before making it a reality. A-Rod married Cynthia Scurtis in 2002 and got divorced in 2008. After becoming single once again, Rodriguez dated quite a few high-profile women.

However, little did he know that one of those women would be the same person with whom he wanted to go on a dream date back then. It might have been a dream come true for Rodriguez when he did get to date that celebrity. Can you guess who it was?

Alex Rodriguez saw his future two decades ago

Back in 1998, Alex met the one and only pop sensation Jennifer Lopez. At the moment, the former athlete was a huge fan of hers, so much so that he was desperate enough to want to date her. But, at that time, JLo was already married, so his dream had negligible chances of coming true.

Since the late 90s, A-Rod was an up-and-coming athlete, he had gotten accumulated to giving interviews. And in one such interview, A-Rod revealed the name of his dream date. “Jennifer Lopez (laughs), hopefully, you can find me a date with her,” said Rodriguez, probably after his very first meeting with JLo. 

Alex was probably sure that his dream would come true one day. If not, he had luck by his side for a long time.

Did Alex eventually get to date his dream girl?

After having a fan moment and getting a picture autographed by JLo in 1998, the ex-celeb couple met again at a Yankees game in 2005. Though the two were married to different people at the time. Hence, they couldn’t date each other. 

Fast forward to 12 years, Alex and Lopez met again. This time, call it their worlds bringing them together or something else, but they clicked and instantly started dating each other. Jen even revealed that she felt electric for 3 seconds with A-Rod when she met him in 2005. But since they were married to different people at the time, nothing could have happened.
