Because of this, there was more fanfare over every game of his than any year before. Juan Sanchez shared a video of a moment from 9 years ago which has gained more than 10 million views.

During a 2014 game in April against the Houston Rockets, he goes to give a young girl a ball. But an older lady tries to take it from him with all her might. Despite this, he goes closer to the fan and personally hands it to the young girl. 

In the video, the commentators can be heard complimenting Jeter for his composure in the situation. Furthermore, that young girl is likely a lifetime fan due to that one iconic moment. Although he shunned another fan, the legendary shortstop always meant for the ball to go to the young girl.
