As the world awaits baseball on the big stage, the World Baseball Classic comes closer. And amidst all the preparation for the World Baseball Classic, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro chose to hit the ballpark to get some practice ahead of the upcoming WBC.

Notably, Venezuela competes with Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic in Pool D of the WBC, which commences on 11th March 2023.

All in all, the gesture, while seeming fun, was ultimately a failed attempt by President Nicolas Maduro in the park. One could also go as far as saying that they’d never want President Maduro to feature in the Venezuelan lineup on the Opening Day of the WBC. However, the President’s arrival in the park could be very motivating for the Venezuelan team as the WBC approaches.

Who headlines the Venezuelan team in the upcoming World Baseball Classic?

Venezuela stands in among the most competitive groups of the upcoming WBC featuring the Caribbean star power of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. However, headlining the Venezuelan roster is two-time Houston Astros World Champion Jose Altuve. Moreover, Twins pitcher Pablo Lopez, and Marlins infielder Luiz Arraez feature in this powerful lineup.
