An honor as it is, the Angles star received a poster of him as an Anime character displaying his heroism as a pitcher and a hitter. His earnest reaction to seeing himself on the collector’s edition won countless hearts.

Ohtani’s love for Japanese Samurai was evident as his gift was unveiled before him. He said, “This is super cool.. On top of that, I see the Samurai taste of Japan. I like it a lot.”
With the intention of capturing Ohtani’s duality as a pitcher and a hitter, the consummation of his anime character was simply awesome. In a fiery red and yellow background holding his baseball bat and ball, the unanimously voted MVP displays his power.

Sho-Time’s love for baseball comes from the lesser known influence of anime in his life. Not only is he a fan of One Piece, one masterpiece of a manga, he loves the baseball focused series – Major. He is vocal about his love for manga and deservedly draws comparison to an iconic character.
Ohtani grew up as a fan of Takuya Mitsuda comic series Major. This tells the story of Shigeno Goro, who is a pitcher and a hitter.
