In the ever-changing world of sports, each day brings a unique tale. Sometimes, it’s a story of triumph and glory, while on other occasions, the stars align in the opposite direction. Such was the case for the star player of the Los Angeles Angels, Shohei Ohtani. In today’s game, he led his team to a hard-fought victory but with a sense of looming discomfort.

The Los Angeles Angels star player is constantly dominating the season with his storming performance. The latest victim of his wrath is the Yankees, who faced a 4-3 defeat today. Although Ohtani scored his 35th home run of the season, he seemed uncomfortable today while swinging, signally a possible back strain.

Shohei Ohtani looked uncomfortable after he tried to hit the ball in the ninth inning. Yankees’ Nick Ramirez pitched an excellent swing ball, and to get to the ball, Ohtani leaned forward. Ohtani’s sudden and low-ground leaning led to discomfort in his back.

After the ball, Ohtani’s sudden strain-pain was visible. He touched his back and twitched it a bit to adjust the strain. Although he continued playing after the incident, the possibility of back pressure cannot be denied in such situations.

A video clip of the moment is shared on Twitter by Talkin’ Baseball, where they described the moment, writing, “Looks like Shohei’s back was bothering him after this swing.”

Recently, Ohtani has struggled with similar minor injuries. Last week while playing against the Houston Astros, he left the game in the sixth inning due to finger pain, which was then confirmed as an injury.

Apart from the back strain, today’s game against Yankees brought fortune for Ohtani. The two-way phenom broke his own record from 2022, standing tall with the Yankees captain, Barry Bonds, and others.

Shohei Ohtani has been tremendous this season. With his 35th home run today, he has broken his last year’s record of 34 home runs.

Ohtani ranks as the fifth player with the most home runs in a team’s first 95 games this century, following closely behind Barry Bonds (42 in 2001), Luis Gonzalez (37 in 2001), Chris Davis (36 in 2013), and Judge (36 in 2022).
