David Ortiz is taking well to the deep south. Minute Maid Park is hosting the Texas Rangers for an exciting ALCS match-up. The Houston Astros are making history by entering their seventh straight Championship Series, with two World Series triumphs in that span. It will be a first for Texas if the Rangers win the Fall Classic, cementing 2023 in franchise history. Reporting on all the baseball madness is Big Papi with his FOX crew.

The retired Boston Red Sox legend is known for the levity he brings to broadcasts, constantly making his co-hosts laugh. Just last week, Ortiz played the role of a meteorologist ahead of an Orioles game. While he failed spectacularly, Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez were splitting their sides. Now Papi is back with another move, this time prompting laughter in the Wild West.

David Ortiz has embraced the cowboy culture of the South. He may be a former baseballer and current MLB analyst for FOX Sports, but no rules state he can’t do both in style. Ahead of the first ALCS game in H-Town, Big Papi arrived on a ride that only makes sense in Houston. Striding across a horse, sporting a gunslinger outfit, the Red Sox icon wore a cowboy hat and a whip to match. The only thing missing were the boots, but Ortiz pulled it off with class!

Posting a story showing off his fancy ride, he shared, “Things I gotta do to get to Houston. Came on my horse. Let’s go Houston.”?So that’s what happens when one goes to Texas! “My ride to Houston,” read the caption of the story. Although a trainer was present to calmly lead the horse forward, Papi looked good at doing it.

The ALCS game has attracted much fan attention, with fans rooting for either side. The Rangers have taken an early lead with a 2-0 win against the Astros in a surprising shutout. Not having lost a game this postseason yet, it was a great game for Texas. The MLB on FOX crew has even made their predictions on who will win.

Ahead of Game 1, FOX analysts gave their predictions. Alex Rodriguez was rooting for his former team, predicting seven games, but stressed the importance of an early lead. Jeter agreed, going with the Rangers as well, citing Houston’s troubles at home as the biggest issue.

But David Ortiz predicts the Astros will win in six. It’s worth noting that the retired slugger has so far gone 7-0 with his guesswork. With the nine championship rings shared among the three players, their opinion undoubtedly comes from a place of experience.
