On Saturday, during the second game of the series against the Royals, the Yankees players received some booing from fans at the Kauffman Stadium. Earlier this year, MLB allowed teams to wear a sign-communication device (PitchCom) in the ballpark. With the help of this device, a pitcher can easily communicate with the catcher about their next pitch.
Although every team doesn’t need to use the PitchCom device, The Bronx Bombers have been using it since the start of the 2022 MLB season. The entire world has become dependent on technology and sports are not behind in the race. Recently, a minor glitch in the PitchCom device forced the fans to boo against the Yankees players.
New York Yankees win their eighth consecutive game
MLB introduced the PitchCom device to avoid the chances of sign-stealing during a baseball game. Sign-stealing is already a controversial topic in Major League Baseball. Especially after the Houston Astros cheating scandal in the 2017 season. That is the main reason MLB introduced the PitchCom device.

With the help of this device, a pitcher can easily communicate with the catcher by just clicking a button. But during the Yankees vs Royals game, a problem occurred with the device. When Aroldis Chapman was pitching from the mound, he had some trouble with the device. And to get it fixed, he took help from Gleyber Torres.
However, it seemed that the fans did not like this. And they started booing the Yankees stars after a glitch occurred in the PitchCom device. The video of the same is doing rounds on the internet.
