Amongst his many, many fans, Jimmy Fallon, a die-hard Pinstripes fan, is someone who has always adored Jeter. Fallon loved watching Jeter play. And once, in 2013, he invited the then-Yankees captain to his show and involved Jeter in a strange but humorous and gaiety event.
Jimmy Fallon and The Roots provided Derek Jeter with three new walk-up songs
The segment started with Fallon inviting Jeter to the home plate set up on stage as a recreation of the five-time World Champions walk from the on-deck circle to the box. While the first two songs were circling heavy rock, loud and brash, the third song by The Roots caught the captain’s ears. All throughout the segment, Jeter laughed, and Fallon probably found a new host in the Yankees captain.
After the event, Jimmy Fallon shared a tweet. And said, “@TheRoots and I gave Derek Jeter 3 new songs to walk up to the plate with. What’s your call?”
Nothing in the world would allow Jimmy Fallon to miss Jeter’s last game
Eight years ago, Jeter decided to play his ultimate match at Yankee Stadium. Consequent to that, Fallon made sure to get the best seat in the house. Which was right behind the home plate. All through the game, Fallon cheered and screamed for Jeter.
