When Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez owned an NBA team, many eyebrows were raised. Everyone knew the love A-Rod has for basketball, but no one expected him to own a team, that too the Minnesota Timberwolves of the Western Conference. A-Rod bought the team along with businessman Marc Lore.
The duo completed the deal at $1.5 Billion, where they jointly became the owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA and the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA. The NBA journey for the Timberwolves is over, and the WNBA pre-season 2022 is currently underway for the Lynx. Known for his 23-year journey in the MLB, A-Rod is one of the greatest players in the history of baseball.

For the first year of ownership, the performance of the Timberwolves was commendable as they reached the Playoffs 1. In the Western Conference, Timberwolves currently stand at the 7th position with 46 wins and 36 losses. The team included stars like Karl-Anthony Towns, Patrick Beverley, Anthony Edwards, and others. After the playoff exit, A-Rod posted a tribute video for the team to motivate them for the next season.
In the video Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez said, “Wow Minnesota! What a first season. When Marc Lore and I first met with Glen and Becky Taylor, we knew the organization and city were special, but this year blew us away. It may not have ended how we wanted, but what a fun first run.”
