Julio Rodriguez shines in the Seattle Mariners’ victory over the Miami Marlins
Before playing on Sunday, the Mariners had already lost the series to the Marlins. But the Mariners needed to win the third game to boost the confidence of the team. The game became more intense when the Marlis intentionally walked Abraham Toro.
The Mariners’ players did not like this attitude, and they wanted to respond with their game. Julio Rodriguez, who is playing in his rookie year, took revenge in the most fascinated way. The 31-years-old smashed his first career home run to win the game for the Mariners. It was a three-run homer. Later, he said that he felt good to get his first homer in an intense game like that.

“That was a first — and that’s what they got,” Rodriguez said. “It was ‘OK, you want to challenge me, I’m going to give you the challenge. That is what I was feeling. ‘You want it? Let’s go.’ … I was really excited, honestly. It felt really good to get my first homer in a game like that.”
