The Dominican Republic has given baseball some of the best players like Fernando Tatis Jr, Juan Soto, Marte,Starling  and David Ortiz. But one of their best players has decided to lead them to the WBC title in 2026! Albert Pujols will be the manager of the Dominican Republic for the WBC 2026.

The decision was announced by Mike Rodriguez on his X handle. On 2nd March, the working committee headed by Juan Marichal made this decision, backed by iconic baseball figures such as Vladimir Guerrero, Pedro Martinez, Adrian Beltre, David Ortiz, and Edwin Encarnacion.

The Dominican Republic team GM, Nelson Cruz said, “The committee’s decision was very successful in bringing a manager with a lot of leadership and confidence, who will help us achieve the crown we have been waiting for.” He also specified that the whole of the Dominican Republic will need to stand together with their team and support the decision taken by the management.

Cruz says they have one thing in mind and that is the 2026 World Baseball Classic Championship.

With Albert Pujols at the helm, the Dominican Republic isn’t just aiming for the 2026 WBC title—they’re demanding it. The legends have spoken, the decision is final, and there’s no turning back now.
