Vladimir Guerrero Jr isn’t one to hold back—whether it’s at the plate or in front of a mic. But when it comes to a certain messy situation, even he knows when to keep his swing in check. With the Toronto Blue Jays making headlines for all the wrong reasons, you’d think a Hall of Fame bloodline member would offer some fatherly wisdom. Turns out, that Junior has his reasons for keeping Dad out of this one. The recent drama between the Toronto Blue Jays and Vladimir Guerrero Jr has reached its peak.
It is now pulling the Hall of Famer dad, Vladimir Guerrero Sr into the mix. Not literally but after the recent interview with ESPN, Guerrero Jr has all the eyes in the world on him. In the interview with ESPN Deportes, Guerrero Jr was asked why he has not asked his father for advice or for help.
To which Guerrero Jr replied, “Until now, the negotiations have not gotten serious enough for me to sit down and talk to him. Obviously, when I get a little more serious I will start talking to him.”

Although most of us would have talked, Guerrero Jr thinks it is not yet time. He will ask for advice or help from his father only if the Blue Jays are ready to sit and do some serious business.

For now, Vladimir Guerrero Jr is keeping his ace in the hole—or rather, his Hall of Fame hotline—on standby. The Blue Jays might be playing hardball, but until they step up to the plate with real intent, Dad stays in the dugout. After all, even a legendary swing can’t fix stalled negotiations.

We all know that Vladimir Guerrero Jr will become a free agent at the end of 2025, and we already have news that the Yankees are ready for him. Analysts predict that Guerrero Jr could sign with the Yankees for more than $500 million after missing out on Soto.
MLB analyst Jim Bowden said, “The Yankees would be a strong fit for Guerrero. Paul Goldschmidt will be a free agent after this season and first base in the Bronx will be wide open for the long term. Although Guerrero previously said he would never play for the Yankees, he later softened those comments and said he would consider it.”
And vice versa. Guerrero will be a good fit for the Yankees if they choose it be. The question will not be about the money, as the Yankees were able to offer Soto $700 million. They should easily be able to offer Guerrero Jr. his $500 million. Adding him with the likes of Judge, would shake the whole league.
