MLB’s All-Star games never fail to impress. The best of the league come together to display some impressive performances, sometimes with friends and former teammates competing! This is exactly what happened with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. this year.

Guerrero just won the Home Run Derby in record-breaking fashion yesterday and is playing his third All-Star game this year. On the other hand, Gurriel, Guerrero’s former Toronto Blue Jays teammate, is playing his first Midsummer Classic in 2023. And the two friends found the game the perfect opportunity to engage in some shenanigans!

Most dugouts prefer to watch their teammates on the field. Guerrero and Gurriel prefer Rock, Paper, Scissors. The two friends were separated when Gurriel was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2022, but they decided to have some fun at this reunion.

A clip from the All-Star Game shows the two playing rock paper scissors in the middle of the innings, much to the amusement of teammates. What’s even more hilarious is that they were doing this across dugouts! Their current teams separate the two into AL and NL, but the friends apparently didn’t care!

When the trade for Gurriel happened last year, Guerrero was seemingly quite upset. Gurriel had been like a brother to him as the two had played together throughout the minor leagues. “I’m not going to lie to you, of course, it hurts a little bit. Especially the first couple of weeks. It felt strange. I personally understand that this is a business and there are things you can’t control,” the Blue Jays player said at the time.

But both seem to have moved on now, as this latest game of their own proves. When fans realized what was happening in each dugout, they wanted more.

Baseball fans love the Guerrero-Gurriel friendship

Camaraderie in baseball is common to see, with teammates becoming lifelong friends. Guerrero and Gurriel seem to be on that path too and fans can’t get enough of it.

One fan hilariously pointed out that the players seemed to have some new moves of their own, even in a game as classic as Rock, Paper, Scissors!

Some wanted to know why every broadcast channel wasn’t showcasing it.

Most baseball fans had a good laugh.
