Mike Trout’s love for baseball is well-documented, but he also has a deep passion for golf. While he doesn’t keep a handicap, he is known to shoot in the 60’s when he gets his A game on. This season, though, his injuries have kept him not just off the baseball mound but also the golf course. However, even after those tribulations, he had something to look forward to—call it his passion project, or as he says, vision. It’s the Trout Nation—the Reserve, supposed to be a golfer’s paradise.

Trout collaborated with sports’ biggest name, Tiger Woods, to get that vision into reality. It’s a private golf club that Trout is building in his hometown of Vineland, New Jersey. The project is being designed by Woods and his firm, TGR Design. Just last summer, the sports icons of their respective fields had met to fine-tune the details as the course neared completion. And now it’s finally done, so Trout couldn’t help but share his excitement on social media.

For nearly two years, the project Trout National was wrapped away from prying eyes, just like a secret. But now the project is done! Mike Trout couldn’t hide his excitement and shared in his Instagram story, “A vision turned into reality. Thanks to @tigerwoods and the team at @tgr.design. This place is special.” Well, this 18-hole golf course is just seven miles from Trout’s childhood home in Millville; of course, that is special.

It’s clear for the Los Angeles Angels superstar; it isn’t just a stunning course that matters; it’s its roots too. Trout, in fact, still lives in the area with his wife Jessica, and their two children. Plus, they also have their extended family around, which makes the whole ordeal a lot more meaningful. Reflecting on the project, Mike Trout shared in 2023, “I could put down roots anywhere in the country, but Jessica and I make South Jersey our off-season home and always cherish the time we get to spend there.”

“I love South Jersey, and I love golf, so creating Trout National—the Reserve is a dream come true,” he added, noting that what makes it even more special is that Tiger Woods designed it. It is incredible, given he is what most consider the greatest golfer of all time.

Mike Trout’s heartfelt ode to his late brother-in-law

Trout National—the Reserve—is more than a golf course, though; it’s a labor of love and passion brought to life by Mike Trout. This masterpiece features state-of-the-art facilities that will leave onlookers gawking. From a sprawling driving range and short game area to luxurious lodging areas, from cafes to dining spaces, the Trout Nationals offer everything every golfer can dream about. Tiger Woods and his team did it complete justice.

At the heart of it all, though, is the club Aaron’s, a food and beverage haven. But it’s more special because it’s an ode to Mike Trout’s late brother Aaron Cox. It’s designed vibrantly and is located between the 6th and 11th holes. From fire pits to indoor and outdoor bars, it has it all. True to Aaron’s life-of-the-party spirit, it’s a place for members to relax and enjoy.

That’s not all; the club also boasts a spa, bowling alley, wine cellar, and more. The clubhouse is set to open before the grand opening of the place in 2026. Have you guys checked out the place in the pictures? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
