While Games 1 and 2 of the Fall Classic were unexpected, Monday night’s game has surpassed that. Chase Field has seen a strange exit during the pinnacle of Game 3. Things don’t look up for the Texas Rangers as one of their ace pitchers had to leave the field mid-way.

Injuries are bound to happen, but when they happen at crucial moments, they usually bite harder. Today’s game. Max Scherzer, who has appeared in his 3rd World Series this year, displayed back tightness. While that happened, the Rangers’ general manager was spotted signaling something that caught everyone’s attention.

As the future Hall of Famer pitched, Chris Young signaled to someone mouthing the words, “pull him”. With that, Scherzer left the game with just 36 pitches and what might be a back injury. With that, Jon Gray has replaced a disappointed Max. On a play that finished the second inning, he was struck in the back by a comebacker from Alek Thomas.

Every time an injury occurs, the players go through massive frustration. Max Scherzer is no exception. He even expressed, “It’s frustrating as heck, but that is the hand I’m dealt, so I have got to deal with it. We feel we have got a good beat on what this is and how to treat it.” But there lingers an uncertainty. He probably wouldn’t know ahead of Wednesday whether he can pitch moving forward in the series or not. This injury is, however, not the only reason to question Game 4’s lineup.

Despite the 3-1 win against the Snakes, Game 3 was not kind to the players of Texas Rangers. With yet another player injured, it is doubtful how the game on Tuesday will look for the Rangers in the World Series. Though they are only 2 victories shy of bagging their first World Series, there looms doubt.

Injuries Reoccur For The Texas Rangers

Jeff Passan of ESPN, reported that Adolis Garcia, “grabbed his oblique” as he swung the ball in the 8th inning. And that was not a good sign. Texas’ costly win was coupled with Garcia’s left side tightness and his lost MLB record of 22 RBIs this postseason. Now, he just has to wait and deal with his time taking recovery under the umbrella of uncertainty of returning in the next game.
