The MLB world bows to Shohei Ohtani‘s two-way prowess. Despite some hiccups, the Japanese superstar has had one of the best seasons of his baseball career. With his latest All-Star selection for the third straight year, Sho-time is becoming more valuable by the day.

Although a nail injury impeded his performance at the Midsummer Classic, the regular season stats still prevail. Not only has he left baseball fans thoroughly amazed with his performance, but his personality is also endearing. And a recent viral interview with a 13-year-old only served to prove the fact more.

Ohtani has appeared for many interviews alongside his trusty translator, Ippei Mizuhara. While fans are familiar with his charming nature, most discussions are with adults, aka seasoned interviewers. But Ohtani recently treated his fans to a chat between himself and a popular teenage host.

Jazzy’s World TV, aka Jazlyn Guerra, went viral for a Jay-Z interview a few years ago, and since then, her fame has only risen. This Wednesday, she was also on the All-Star red carpet and interacted with Sho-time, talking about various topics.

After discussing their favorite Japanese snacks, the duo moved on to the Midsummer Classic. Guerra asked Ohtani what it meant for him to be an All-Star Game, and the LA Angels player gave a simple answer.

According to Mizuhara’s translation, “Being an All-Star is one of his goals every single year. It’s his third straight year, so he hopes to keep it going in the years going forward.” But where exactly will Ohtani land in the upcoming years is still the concern of many baseball enthusiasts?

New York Yankees want Ohtani in pinstripes

Every MLB franchise wants to see the Japanese sensation in their team colors. But according to ESPN’s Buster Olney, the Bronx Bombers are “the most motivated” to claim him should he be available. Ohtani is set to hit free agency this offseason but is still determining his plans.

So far, the Angels have not extended his contract, and as the August 1 trade deadline comes up, they could decide to do away with him. In that case, they would at least get something in return instead of Ohtani walking at the season’s end.

And the Yankees could certainly do with some offensive power after a dismal performance in the first half. With captain Aaron Judge’s return still uncertain, Ohtani would be the perfect choice.
