Watching Anthony Volpe occupy the shortstop position replacing Isiah Kiner-Falefa seemed like a dream come true for the entire Yankees fan base. And ever since the bright 21-year-old shortstop made it to the Yankees opening day roster, he’s made sure to not disappoint. And stood by the sidelines, like proud parents were the two Yankee seniors, Aaron Judge, and Anthony Rizzo.
In just four games, with three stolen bases, Anthony Volpe, popularly dubbed as the future Derek Jeter, announced his arrival in the Major League circuit. And as the 21-year-old rookie walked to the box, a radian smile surrounded the Yankees’ bullpen, winning the heart of every single Pinstripe fan around the world.

While the Yankees have been consistent in making it to the postseason over and over again, their problems actually begin after they enter the postseason. Since 2009, despite their glorious history, the New York Yankees have failed to make it to a single World Series, despite 11 postseason appearances. However, with a new captain, and a confident start to 2023, the grand Yankee fan base would be hoping for their tables to turn in 2023.
Only time will tell whether the Bronx Bombers will compete for their 28th World Series title in 2023…
Will Anthony Volpe be able to seal a permanent spot in the Yankees roster as the season progresses? Will he actually be able to get close to Derek Jeter’s greatness and help the Yankees win five Championships? What do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
