MLB has had its fair share of celebrity fans over the years. Bryan Cranston is one of those many celebrity baseball fans. He’s even participated in a celebrity softball game. But the Golden Globe-winning actor is a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Over the years, Cranston has repeatedly stated his support for the team and his love for baseball.

In fact, the actor has supported the Dodgers for approximately 60 years and his love for the team has never waned. Cranston recently opened up on a special connection that he had with an iconic Hall of Famer linked to the Dodgers.

Bryan Cranston had a special love for Hall of Fame commentator Vince Scully

In a recent appearance on the Hot Ones talk show, Bryan Cranston opened up on his love for the Dodgers. In particular, he mentioned that he had a special place in his heart for Dodgers commentator Vince Scully. The Golden Globe-winning actor mentioned that during rough periods in his childhood, listening to Scully would make him feel safe.

On Hot Ones, he said this about listening to Scully’s commentary, “To me, it was a sanctuary. When I, I had a rough childhood, I could always tune out. Put on my transistor, put in my earphones, and listen to him take me away. And at least for those 3 hours, I felt like I was going to be okay. Everything’s safe. Nothing to worry about. And I would just listen to his mellifluous voice.”

Cranston also mentioned that he was still recovering from Scully’s death. The Dodgers iconic commentator meant that much to the Golden Globe winner. But Cranston has also experienced some extremely incredible moments as a fan. He once did something that all baseball fans dream of doing someday.

In 2013, Bryan Cranston did what most Dodgers fans could only dream of. He was able to throw the first pitch at a Dodgers home game and apparently relished the moment. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, even for a superstar actor like Cranston.

According to Dodger Insider, “On July 26, Cranston threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium. But before he tossed the pitch, he bent over and touched the dirt on the mound — obviously taking in every moment.” He truly is a lifetime Dodgers fan.
