Not long, but just a week ago, the San Diego Padres? batting lineup looked the most promising in the entire MLB, especially after signing Juan Soto. Notably, after signing Soto, star shortstop, Fernando Tatis Jr., was also about to join the active roster after recovering from injury.
However, the hype did not last long as MLB found Tatis guilty of using PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs) to better his performance; and then banned him from 80 games. Considering the 80-game ban, it is impossible for Fernando Tatis Jr. to play any game this season. Even if the Padres make it to the World Series, they cannot play 80 games in 2022. And this is not good for either party.
Because the Padres will miss the service of their star player when they will need him the most, especially if they somehow make it to the World Series. When talking about Tatis? return, the Padres shortstop is done for the season and will also miss a huge part of the next season.
