The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres are inter-state rivals in baseball. So there is some fierce competition between the two teams and their respective fan bases. The intense competitive feeling often forms enmity among the most passionate fans. While the Dodgers usually prove to be far ahead in terms of performances, the Padres’ fans disagree.
The Dodgers are presently in grand form. They have even completed a clean sweep of the Padres. While the Padres go on losing out to their fellow state rivals, the heat of the defeats affects their fans. Therefore, as one team wins and the other loses, the rival fans decide to settle scores among themselves.
Pub brawl scene at the Dodger Stadium
Fans want to see their beloved teams win and vice versa. The prime reason why they buy tickets to a game. So while cheering for their team, if results go against desires, emotions are set to boil. On that note, defeats against certain teams hurt furthermore.
Some teams are more than mere opposition. Such teams are rivals. The Dodgers and the Padres have faced off each other thrice this month so far. The Dodgers won each of those encounters.
