One name which had an impact on Major League Baseball is the 1971 AL Cy Young and MVP Award winner, Vida Blue. The Kansas City Royals great left for his heavenly abode on Saturday at the age of? 73.
Blue had a glorious and impactful career in the league. He is most well-known for his time with the Oakland Athletics. But in the early 1980s, the pitcher also played for the 2015 World Series winners Kansas City Royals. And the team honored their ex-player during a recent game.

It happened during the latest MLB game between the Royals and the Oakland Athletics. Royals showed a giant poster of Vida Blue paying their tributes to him. Dallas Braden shared the post of the same on a tweet with a caption that read, “Incredibly classy gesture by the @Royals in honoring Vida.”??

For the Royals, Vida played in 1982-83 seasons, appearing in over 25 games. Blue started his MLB journey with the Oakland Athletics in 1969. He rose to prominence a year later. He then had a wonderful season in 1971, which won him the most valuable player of the season. Blue continued to shine and helped the Athletics win three consecutive World Series Championships, starting in 1972.

In his 17-season career, Blue claimed 2175 strikeouts at a WHIP of 1.23 and has a brilliant win-loss record of 209-161.
