Apart from whether the Yankees will play the World Series this year, who will win the American League MVP has also become a topic of discussion. Unlike the National League, in the names of Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, the American League has two of the most deserving candidates fighting for the MVP this season.
The reigning AL MVP, Shohei Ohtani, is in no mood to slow down. The Angels? star is having a better season this year. On the other hand, Aaron Judge is also having his career-best season in 2022. He is the main reason that rival MLB team fans consider the Yankees a?threat?to the 2022 World Series title.

It is not that Ohtani is having a poor season compared to Judge. But when it comes to their contribution to winning the games for their respective teams, Judge certainly has an edge over Ohtani. At least that is what ace Yankees announcer Michael Kay believes.
Aaron Judge over Shohei Ohtani for the 2022 AL MVP!
While comparing Ohtani and Judge?s worth to their respective teams, Michael Kay finally came to a conclusion for the AL MVP 2022. Michael believes Aaron Judge has been more crucial to the Yankees than Ohtani has been to the Angels.
Although he appreciated Shohei Ohtani for being a wonderful player, Michael declared Judge as the winner of the MVP over Ohtani.
?I?ve been covering baseball for 36 years and the season. Aaron Judge is having is one of the best I?ve ever seen. Take him off the Yankees, and they?d have trouble making playoffs,? Michael tweeted. ?Take Ohtani off Angels and they still would be on the outside looking in. Most valuable??

Taking to Twitter, the Yankees announcer expressed his opinion.
And don’t get me wrong, Ohtani is a one of a kind, generational talent. Might be the best overall player in the world. We might never see what he’s doing again. Doesn’t mean he wins MVP over @TheJudge44 . Remember. Ohtani has not played an important game in two months.

Let the numbers do the talking
Talking about numbers, Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani have been equally excellent. While playing for the Yankees, Judge has already?hit?over 50 home runs this season. And the Angels? two-way phenom is in a league of his own as a two-way player.
Ohtani has collected 176?strikeouts?from the mound and has also hammered 29 home runs from the plate. Having 15-plus strikeouts and 25-plus home runs puts Ohtani in a rare league.
