Most recently, the New York Yankees earned fans’ respect with a moving gesture for an opponent player.

Currently, the Pinstripes are coming off a series loss against the Chicago White Sox. But despite this defeat, the Yankees lent their support to the White Sox ace Liam Hendricks with a moving gesture. Notably, Liam was diagnosed with cancer and he recently defeated the deadly disease and made his comeback to baseball.

The New York Yankees donated $10,000 to a cancer hospital in honor of cancer survivor Liam Hendriks

White Sox star Liam Hendriks beat cancer in under 6 months. The star closer shared the devastating diagnosis in January, stating that he had Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. But in less than 6 months he has beaten the deadly disease and returned to the mound. Most recently, the Yankees donated $10,000 to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in honor of Hendriks beating cancer. Furthermore, the White Sox pitcher is going to match that donation. The Bombers shared the news via Twitter, sharing a picture of GM Brian Cashman and Manager Aaron Boone holding up the cheque with Hendriks.

In a Tweet, they said, “We are proud to donate $10,000 to @MSKCancerCenter in honor of Liam Hendriks striking out cancer 💚Liam has also announced he will be matching the donation with a $10,000 donation of his own 👏”. This is a massive gesture by the team as they honor the White Sox star.
