Derek Jeter, one of the most popular MLB players, has always been this cool, calm, and composed kind of athlete. He never got overwhelmed with anything and rarely showed his nerves on or off the field. His fans and fellow MLB players have appreciated this legend on numerous occasions. But according to him, there was a moment in his career when he got flabbergasted once and mentioned he wouldn’t forget that moment ever.

This moment came a decade ago when Jeter met the President of America and got shocked by the fact that Mr. President was aware of who he was and knew everything about him, and that had left Jeter amazed.

This moment came on April 26th, 2010, when Jeter met then-President Barack Obama for the first time in the White House and was amazed by his gesture. Jeter and his New York Yankees teammates were invited to the White House in honor of winning the 2009 World Series Championship. This was a moment for the ages of the Yankees team and for all the fans from New York and all around the world.

Mr. November narrated this incident on page 151 of his book “Jeter Unfiltered” and said it took him a while to grasp that he knew who he was. He called him by his name and stated, “Hello, Mr. President, It’s always shocking when you meet someone and they know who you are, let alone call you by name—even more so when it’s the President of the United States. When I first met President Obama and he spoke to me and knew all about me, it was hard for me to grasp what was happening.” These lines from his book state the kind of personalities both of them have, and the mutual respect between them is quite evident. After this meeting, Jeter met President Obama many times, and the camaraderie between both of them has been the same.
