Olympic legend Michael Phelps turned up for the Baltimore Orioles
Having won 28 medals in the Olympics, Michael Phelps is inarguably the greatest swimmer in the world. Out of his 28 Olympic medals, 23 are gold medals, which is a world record by an individual. Back in the 2013 season, when Phelps was active in swimming competitions, he hit the batting cage of the Orioles and took five rounds of batting practice.
Per CBS Sports, Phelps was happy to take part in his first batting practice. He wore the number 18 on his back to honor the number of gold medals he won at the Olympics. Notably, in 2013, Phelps had only 18 gold medals to his name.
“It was my first time taking BP, so it was a real cool experience, being able to do that with these guys, and especially after a remarkable season, and hopefully they have a good one coming up,” said Phelps.
“Everyone was sitting here saying what I should be doing, so I just tried to listen to all of them a little bit. I wanted to hit one out, but we caught a couple that were close.”

The current state of the Orioles
Despite being one of the oldest teams in MLB, the Orioles have failed to establish themselves as a top team. With just 33 wins out of 72 games, the Orioles are at the bottom in the American League East. And given their current situation, it will not get better.
