PEDs or not, Alex Rodriguez will go down as one of the best hitters to grace the ballparks. Having played for over 22 years of baseball, A-Rod entertained an era in Major League baseball.

Had he not gotten involved with PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs) during the early days of his career; A-Rod would have been in the same company as Derek Jeter, Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, and a few more Yankees legends.

And no one but A-Rod can only blame himself for the mistakes he did. Notably, MLB suspended A-Rod for an entire season in 2014 after finding him guilty of using steroids in the early days of his baseball career. However, A-Rod admitted his mistakes.

Alex Rodriguez did not want the next generation to do the same mistake

While talking to ace broadcaster Michael Kay in an exclusive interview, Alex Rodriguez reflected on his thoughts over his mistakes. Notably, this interview took place in 2016, the same year he retired from the game.

When Michael asked him whether he will still be a great player after doing PEDs, A-Rod said it was nothing but an unbelievably stupid decision.

“I think so, Michael. And that’s really the most disappointing part of some of my unbelievably stupid decisions… I love the game. I study the game, and it makes my mistakes sometimes where I lose a lot of sleep. But the bottom line is I made a mistake,” Alex Rodriguez admitted.

He even said that he would be ready to better his relationships with the Yankees organization, his teammates, and the commissioner’s office.

“I try to do my best to learn from that and really to think that I am most proud of over the last two years is me mending relationships with… the Commissioner’s office, Hal Steinbrenner, my teammates… And here I am! I have an opportunity to help the next generation and hopefully, they will learn from a lot of mistakes that I have made,” A-Rod added.
