Since the news of Shohei Ohtani deferring $68 million of his salary for a few years came out, it has become obvious that the Los Angeles Dodgers offseason isn’t over yet. A team that just gave out a $700 million contract can still add multiple players to its roster to become a strong World Series contender. And recent social media posts have given strong hints that those players could be Randy Arozarena and Tyler Glasnow.

When Shohei Ohtani entered free agency he made his one preference very clear – he wants to win. And now that the two-way phenom is a part of the Dodgers, they’re ready to give him just that. But how will these players help them in becoming championship candidates?

Even though the Dodgers now have Shohei Ohtani, there is no denying that he alone cannot fix their problems. Last season, their trouble stemmed from a lack of options in their right-handed batting and rotational pitching lineup. Now they might be looking to solve those issues by going for trades of Tyler Glasnow and Randy Arozarena from the Tampa Bay Rays. The latter’s recent Instagram post hints that he might be looking forward to the trade as well.

Arozarena posted a picture from the World Baseball Classic, posing with Shohei Ohtani. The caption only has the Japan and Mexican flags but the post has raised speculations about his possible entry into the Blue Crew. If indeed he comes to LA, the Rays hitter will solve an important problem of the Dodgers – postseason hitting woes.

The Blue Crew’s bad October performances are in stark contrast to their consistency in the regular season. In Arozarena they’ll find a player with a postseason OPS of 1.104, consistent big hits, and three straight seasons with 20+ homers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ links with Glasnow too are making rounds and they are even more enticing.

The Blue Crew may be on the verge of getting Tyler Glasnow

Reporter Jack Azoulay Haron set the internet on fire with a recent X post, sharing that the Dodgers were “on the verge” of getting Tyler Glasnow and outfielder Manuel Margot. Even though Glasnow will be earning $25 million in 2024, the Dodgers can afford this due to Ohtani’s $240 million respite.

The fact that Shotime won’t be pitching in 2024 has made Glasnow’s acquisition very important. And the elite performances of the right-handed pitcher will only further solidify the Blue Crew’s claim for the 2024 World Series. Margot too will prove to add depth to their currently slightly lean outfield department.
