Cora had a conversation with Ohtani on the sidelines of an MLB game. When asked about the meeting, Cora conveyed to the media, that the request originally came from someone else, and he was just fulfilling it. Who did the request come from?

The Red Sox manager asked for the signed ball from Ohtani on a request. According to Mass Live reporter Christopher Smith, Cora is unsure who made the request. He shared that maybe the Portland manager, Chad Epperson, requested the ball as a present given to Liu. He added that Liu might have asked for an autographed ball through the front hand. Ohtani will send the ball to the Red Sox clubhouse.
Young baseball players admire Ohtani and want to repeat the same in their careers. Anything related to the player can act as a huge motivation. The Red Sox’s prospect got into the list of people with an Ohtani autographed item. It will be interesting to see how Liu makes the most of it.

Meanwhile, Liu is currently having a great season at Double-A Portland. He has a winning record of 4-2 with a 2.85 ERA. He has 47 strikeouts to his name at a WHIP of 1.17. Liu has allowed only 27 hits and three home runs so far.

Shohei Ohtani has been a star since he arrived at the Angels.

The Japanese made his debut for the Angels in 2018. Ohtani has played over 600 games as a batter and has notched up 353 runs at an average of 0.268 and an OPS of 0.887. He has played 73 games, making a start in all of them. He has 521 knockouts with a WHIP of 1.06 and an ERA of 2.97.
Ohtani has done a great job this season. He has played six games and has a win-loss record of 5-1. Moreover, he has claimed 80 strikeouts with a WHIP of 0.90 and an ERA of 3.05. Ohtani is moving to a free agent next year, and the conversation with the Red Sox got the attention.
