Two-Way Phenom Shohei Ohtani Joined the Snacks Debate Hours Before All-Star Appearance

Shohei Ohtani stole the show at All-Star weekend. Considering his top-level play over the last few weeks, this comes as no surprise. The Los Angeles Angels two-way phenom is a favorite for the AL MVP award. But hours before suiting up for the All-Star game, he joined a raging debate surrounding snacks. 

Ohtani is known for his strict approach to fitness and health. This gives him an edge in performance, as his body is in top shape. But despite what people may think, the Japanese star does like a snack now and then. 

When the World TV’s kid reporter Jazzy asked Shohei Ohtani about his favorite snacks

The All-Star red carpet event had all MLB’s All-Star players dressed to the nines. Furthermore, a lot of stars, answered questions while on the carpet. Shohei Ohtani took the chance to join the raging snack debate during an interview.

Trending kid reporter Jazzy of the YouTube channel Jazzys World TV asked him about his favorite snacks. In an adorable gesture, she also gifted him some of his favorite Japanese candy called Poifull. The Japanese star smiled throughout the exchange and was seemingly happy to answer her questions. 

Ohtani said through his interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, “I do like some potato chips, Japanese chips.” Although some call Shohei Ohtani a unicorn or alien for his otherworldly baseball play, he loves chips like any other human. Furthermore, it seems even more interesting considering his strict diet and training regimen.

But this was just one top Ohtani moment during the weekend. When he batted in the All-Star game, roaring “Come to Seattle,” chants erupted. This is due to his upcoming free agency and ongoing trade speculation. 

Ohtani will most likely leave the Angels

Shohei Ohtani will most likely leave the team with the Angels looking to miss the postseason. This may be in a trade but is more likely to happen in free agency. Although trade rumors have started to pop up as the deadline approaches, there are higher chances of him finishing the season in Los Angeles and leaving as a free agent.
