Yesterday at the Yankee stadium, people witnessed the fans of the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays coming together to do a long-time tradition of a Shoey. Among the chants of ‘USA’ you can see the fanbases having a gala time.
Doing a Shoey means drinking a beer or other alcohol from one’s shoe. The tradition originated in Germany, but got majorly popular in Australia.

Italian-Australian racing driver, Daniel Ricciardo, is famous for doing shoey at his appearances on the podium. And now it seems like, people in the US like this tradition enough to not let team rivalry come between them.?
New York Yankees or Toronto Blue Jays – who did the Shoey first?
It was Jay’s fan who stood up first, took out his shoe, and pointed doing a Shoey to the Pinstripe’s fan. Naturally, the New York Yankees fan was not going to not accept the challenge and did the Shoey after Jay’s fan did.
Blue Jay’s fan started pouring his beer into his shoe and then started drinking from it. Then the camera turned, and it was the Pinstripe’s turn to do the same. With the chants going on and his peers cheering him up, he did do it. And celebrated as if he just won the game.
