That’s too early to say if he is Jeter’s replacement or not, but it is indeed true that The Yankees have found a potential talent. The 21-year-old Anthony Volpe separated himself during the Spring Training and even attracted the attention of his idol, Jeter. The icon praised the maturity of his followers. During an interview, he expressed as quoted by the New York Post,I think the thing that stands out the most when talking with the coaches is the fact that, whether it’s an up-and-down game, week or month offensively, he doesn’t take it to the defensive side. I think that says a lot about his maturity.” He further continues, “But he’s gonna get better. It all comes with experience.”

Volpe’s love for baseball started with Jeter. He used to watch the Yankees legend during Home games and learn the moves. While praises from the Idol is already an overwhelming experience for the 21-year-old player, there’s another piece of advice Captain Clutch shared with himthere’s nothing like playing shortstop for the Yankees.” During the Sring Training, the young player has established himself as a potential starting shortstop for the Yankees. Though his rookie season was challenging, he still survived with a .214/.293/.397 line that is appreciatable. Though initially, things were a bit tough for him, later, he changed his stances to turn things positive.

With Volpe’s appearance, fans have been trying to speculate whether he can really replace Jeter and become the new long-term solution for The Yankees.
