Y’all ready for some baseball? The 94th MLB All-Star Game is coming home to the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field on July 16th. Not only is this the first time the Rangers have hosted since 1995, but it’s also a historic moment: the first time since 1934 that the reigning World Series champs are opening their doors for the Midsummer Classic. But the fun doesn’t stop there, y’all. This All-Star week is packed with events to keep you entertained from dawn ’til dusk.

“It’s not a local event, it’s not a regional event, even the United States — it is a global event,” exclaimed Matt Wilson from the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau. “As baseball has grown in popularity, overseas and at home, the eyes of the world will be on Arlington, Texas.” With the hometown team at the helm, the atmosphere is electric. The American League, led by Rangers—the reigning World Series champions, making this the first time since 1934 that the previous season’s titleholders are playing host—with their skipper Bruce Bochy, being fired up and ready to face off against Torey Lovullo’s National League squad in the Arizona Diamondbacks.

“It is truly an honor to have the All-Star Game return to Arlington for the first time since 1995,” said Rob Matwick, executive vice president of the Texas Rangers. “This week is a celebration of baseball and softball on all levels.” And you can bet your bottom dollar that Arlington is ready to put on a show.
