"Rocker B Ranch making millions tax-free—Is this the American dream or a broken system?"

Ever thought about owning a ranch? A better question would be, ever think about turning it into a baseball field? Though it might sound a little strange but there’s a big scope of growth in that direction. A live example of it is in Texas – Rocker B Ranch. A baseball field cum resort cum multi-sports facility. But what has really shocked the fans is that it might be earning more than Minor League teams.

That’s right! A privately owned ranch with a baseball field has a better revenue than the Minor League’s average? How can that happen? Popular Social Media influencer and creator for Sports Business Journal Tyler Webb explained it in detail on his Instagram account. As they say, everything is bigger in Texas and sometimes that can mean baseball too. According to Webb’s real, the Rocker B Ranch earns close to $20 million per year through its various activities.

Initially starting as a baseball field, the Ranch slowly transformed itself into a resort. With multiple luxury rooms to a beautiful swimming pool. The Ranch has it all. Though baseball is its biggest attraction, there are places for sports like Gold present there as well. Such is its popularity that the Ranch’s events get sold out within minutes of their announcement.

However, what has shocked the fans is that this $20 million revenue eclipses the Minor League’s average. According to the Sports Advisory Group, the top 20 MiLB teams are worth $21.2 million. However, their average revenue is just $9.8 million and 49% of it comes from tickets (one can remember how the pandemic affected them). As one can see clearly, the Rocker B Ranch’s expected revenue eclipses the Minor League’s income. That is something that has surprised fans. However many are cynical about it and believe the numbers to be exaggerated. However, even they couldn’t deny the popularity of the Ranch in Texas.

Fans in awe after knowing Rocker B Ranch’s numbers

Though the Minor Leagues don’t have huge earnings, it is still surprising to see a Ranch with a baseball field earning more money. “This is unreal,” commented a fan. Certainly, it is. That fan reflected the sentiment of most people who saw the reel. They couldn’t comprehend how the Rocker B Ranch could put up such numbers. However, they got an answer from other fans.

Have an interesting take?

“We just played here two weekends ago and it’s an awesome experience! The fields are amazing!” said a user. That is something that multiple fans attested to. The quality of their rooms and the sheer amount of things to do has made the Ranch a perfect holiday spot for people in Texas. Add to that the state’s general love for baseball, and no wonder it regularly flocked with people.

“And pay $0 in taxes,” noted another user. While one can’t attest to this statement, the tax laws in Texas do have provisions for tax exemptions. However, there are multiple criteria that the ranch owner will have to meet to be eligible for these exemptions. However, it again shows how profitable owning a ranch could be if used creatively.

“20 mil is a stretch. Top tournaments in country clear about 500k a weekend. That’s 1000s of teams for the tournament,” one fan calculated. One could argue the skepticism but $20 million can generate such questions. The Rocker B Ranch has multiple cabins and bunk house rooms around it that cost $600 to $4500. One could imagine just how high the income could be if most of those rooms get filled during different events.

More importantly, if it come with the kind of amenities and a private lake that the Rocker B Ranch has? It’s pretty much every baseball lover’s dream. Perhaps that’s why fans fill the Ranch any chance they get.

So as it stands, Rocker B Ranch’s income is allegedly more than the Minor League teams. A ranch that earns more than professional clubs – that is quite a business idea, right?
