The San Francisco Giants President of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi recently made a statement on the Correa deal that collapsed at the last moment. Talkin’ Baseball shared a Tweet saying, “The Giants have issued a statement on Carlos Correa”.

Per MLB.com’s Maria Guardado, Zaidi said, “While we are prohibited from disclosing confidential medical information, as Scott Boras stated publicly, there was a difference of opinion over the results of Carlos’ physical examination. We wish Carlos the best.”

The statement has left fans unhappy with many of them reacting to it negatively. They do not like how the Giants have reacted to the failed Correa deal. Furthermore, many have even said that the Giants have failed this offseason.

But the Giants’ dispute with the All-Star shortstop has allowed the Mets to swoop in and sign him. Despite the medical concerns surrounding Correa, the Mets have offered him a huge deal. This adds to their roster stacked with talented players. But their impressive lineup does not scare baseball fans, with many expecting them to fall short of expectations. Furthermore, the Correa deal is a big commitment for the franchise that they are hoping will pay off.

The Mets have agreed to a reported 12-year $315 million deal with Carlos Correa. While that may be an astronomical amount of money, the All-Star has proved his worth while playing for the Twins and Astros in the past. Correa will surely provide the Mets with a boost to their batting lineup and fortify their defense with his exceptional fielding.
