Baseball being back in the form of Spring Training is indeed a dream come true for the sport’s fans. Even though baseball is not back entirely, every game and its advancement is already proving to be a source of pure entertainment for the fans. The most recent game between the Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres is a perfect example of that. Despite having some of the best players in the entire league, like Manny Machado and Juan Soto, the Padres failed to get even one hit in the complete nine innings of the game.?

This gave baseball fans a chance to mock the team for its subpar play. During this time, players gear up for an exciting regular season and their aim of winning the world series. Even though spring training is more likely the practice to get ready for the regular season, fans expect their team to have at least a couple of hits in the game. Hence, as soon as the short clip of the Padres failing to get one hit in the bottom of the ninth went up on Twitter, fans started to bash them brutally.?

Not long ago, the Padres shocked the entire big league by signing Machado for a long-term deal of 11 years and $350 million. Sources also revealed that after having Machado in their corner, they’d look at Soto and Hader for a long-term extension. Now, with some of the best players, the team could not manage to get one hit against the three-time world champ, Chicago Cubs.?

Most baseball fans are not holding back their feelings while talking about getting a no-hitter in spring training. However, some think failing to get even one hit, especially against the Cubs, is even more embarrassing for the Padres. One of them feels that spending $35 million on Machado is a complete waste if he couldn’t get one hit in the spring training game.?
