In the sports world, players often change their teams for growth. Gerrit Cole and Giancarlo Stanton have done the same. These two present New York Yankees players have been parts of different teams previously. After Giancarlo’s outstanding 400th Home Run against Detroit Tigers, his once rival, now teammate Gerrit Cole, shared his moments with him as a rival.
During this post-game interview, Cole was talking about lots of things. He even came to Giancarlo and shared one of his memorable incidents with him that made him lose the almost-won match against the Miami Marlins. However, the Yankees Pitcher praised his teammate for his professionalism and talent, despite his betrayal long ago.

Cole Shared a Funny Yet Memorable Experience with Giancarlo- A Betrayal
Giancarlo Stanton and Gerrit Cole are present teammates, but they used to be rivals previously. While Giancarlo was with the Miami Marlins, Cole played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros. After Wednesday’s remarkable performance of Giancarlo that led the Yankees to victory, the 32-year-old-pitcher shared one of his remarkable experiences with the Designated Yankees hitter as a rival a few years back. Though he said he didn’t remember the year, he remembered the incident.

The pitcher said it was in Miami where he and Giancarlo both caught up in the outfield and talking about things. Suddenly, Stanton asked him for a favor, as the pitcher reported, “hey could you just give me a fastball down the middle tomorrow, and I?m just going to go to the other way. I need to find my swing.” Though Cole was a bit shocked, he did not go back on his words during the game and threw a fastball down the middle. The consequence was unexpected for the pitcher. It was a Home Run. While Gerrit Cole was thinking of closing the series with a win, after this, he said, “I lost the win.”

Even after that, he described this event as a ‘funny’ one without any complaint against Giancarlo. Instead, he praised him, saying, “So, what I mean, What a blessing it is for me to to have played against such a wonderful talent and to one the same side now. Such a wonderful talent and a true professional in how he goes about his business, and what he brings to the park every single day.?? He kept adding, “…at this, he totally redeemed himself getting me that win.”
Even the video of the Home Run went viral after this. However, the 33-year-old, Designated Hitter has claimed his spot in the top 10 New York Yankees players to have 400th Home Runs in his career on their last game.

Players often suffer from off-form. These times are crucial and frustrating for players and fans too. As the entire team has been going through a bad time, fans got frustrated that their favorite players couldn’t do anything for their team and started denouncing a few players, including Stanton. On Wednesday, the stadium was initially filled up with ‘Boos,” but soon, it changed to praises and cheer for the Yankee Slugger after his 400th Home Run. It not only made him the 58th player to have 400 Home Runs in their career but brought the Yankees victory.
Since the video of the Home Run went viral, fans have been commenting on several things, but most people think it’s too late for this performance. However, the slugger acknowledged the support of the fans and his teammates. Even Captain Judge acknowledged his teammate’s success.
