Alex Rodriguez has been in a number of relationships over the years. As a famous baseball star, most of his relationships were heavily followed in the media. But none more so than his 4-year relationship with Jennifer Lopez. The couple was regularly the subject of headlines.

Furthermore, every step of their relationship was followed from the beginning till the end. They made several public appearances together and in interviews. This made people fall further in love with them as a couple. But what many people forget is that Alex Rodriguez went through a painful breakup with a long-term girlfriend before dating JLo. 

Alex Rodriguez broke up with Torrie Wilson before dating JLo

In 2015, Alex Rodriguez split up with former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson. The two had been dating for around three years when they broke up. In 2015, Page Six reported on the breakup and said the two split up on amicable terms. But the reason for the split was that Alex Rodriguez flirted with other women and was not ready to settle down. 

According to Page Six, “Alex and Torrie would fight over his flirtations with other women, and he wasn’t ready to settle down again”. A-Rod was not ready to commit and Wilson wanted a committed relationship. Furthermore, allegations stated that Rodriguez was flirting with other women and that is what caused the breakup.

Following this, Rodriguez stayed single until a fateful meeting with Jennifer Lopez in 2017. The two hit it off and began dating soon after this meeting. Rodriguez and Lopez seemed genuinely happy together and were often seen on dates. The two got engaged in March 2019 and the future seemed bright. But in 2021 Rodriguez and Lopez shocked millions by announcing their break up.

Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez split up in April 2021 after spending 4 years together. The couple announced the news in a joint statement and said they were better as friends. A-Rod and JLo did not give clear reasons as to why they were breaking up after 4 years of dating.

But multiple sources at the time reported that JLo was scared that Rodriguez would cheat on her or flirt with other women. This combined with other problems the couple was having is what reportedly led to the breakup. But A-Rod seems to have grown as a person since breaking up with JLo.
